Canadians Are So Damn Polite That They're Now Causing Each Other To Get Into Car Accidents. Sorrey
Canadian Press – Police in Summerside, P.E.I., are encouraging motorists to stop being quite so nice — because it’s causing accidents.
Sgt. Jason Blacquiere says there have been a number of accidents recently when drivers have yielded their right-of-way and waved other vehicles out into traffic.
He said there can be oncoming vehicles in other lanes whose drivers are unaware of the situation, and a collision occurs.
“It’s good intentions, I guess. People are trying to be courteous to other drivers but they are unintentionally creating some very dangerous situations on the roads,” he said.
There’s nothing that Canadians love more than flexing on the rest of the world about how goddamn polite they are. Maybe poutine but if anything, poutine and politeness are 1A and 1B in terms of things that Canadians are most proud about. So to see the day finally come where Canadian Politeness has become problematic? Well it’s just been a long time coming.
Now I’ll be honest. I didn’t realize that people in Canada actually drive cars. I figured they either drive Zambonis around everywhere, ice skate from point A to point B, or just hop on the back of a moose to get around town. Which they might actually need to start doing unless they can figure out how to be a bunch of pricks out there on the road. Because whatever they’re doing right now? Well I’m sorrey to say this but it just ain’t working.
One moment you think you’re just being a good ol’ Canadian boy holding up traffic to let some jackass make a left at an intersection where you know that only a jackass would attempt to hang a left at. The next moment you’re getting buddy absolutely smoked by someone else coming flying down the right lane. Not so polite anymore, now are ya? Now this guy is going to sipping his maple syrup through a straw for the next 4 months, all because you wanted to feel good about yourself and be Mr. Nice Guy. Do the right thing, Canada. Start to be assholes and you won’t be getting each other completely obliterated on the roads anymore.
